Assistant Quarry Manager

About the role

You will play a pivotal role as an executive in assisting quarry manager in overseeing the efficient and safe operation of the company's quarry operations. Responsible for a full-time, on-site role based in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, you will ensure the quarry meets production and sales targets while adhering to all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations.

What you'll be doing

1. Developing and implementing plans to meet production and sales targets and budgets
2. Managing and supervising the quarry workforce, including operators, technicians and maintenance crews
3. Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
4. Identifying and addressing operational issues to maximise productivity and efficiency
5. Coordinating maintenance and repair activities to maintain the integrity of quarry equipment and infrastructure
6. Reporting to quarry manager on operational performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
7. Collaborating with other departments to support the overall business objectives

What we're looking for

1. Relevant qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology or a related field
2. Industry experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior quarry or mine management role
3. Technical expertise: Comprehensive understanding of quarry operations.
4. Leadership skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of operational personnel
5. Safety focus: Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
6. Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve operational issues in a timely and effective manner
7. Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels
