Role hiring: Material Scientist (R&D) x1 ; Chemist (R&D) x1

Senior R&D Scientist – Polymer Coatings

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize advanced epoxy coating formulations for:
  • Fire-retardant / passive fire protection systems
  • Subsea and underwater curing coatings
  • Corrosion-resistant pipeline protection systems
• Conduct polymer and resin chemistry optimization including:
  • Cure kinetics
  • Adhesion performance
  • Thermal stability
  • Crosslink density
• Evaluate specialty additives including:
  • Flame retardants
  • Anti-corrosion pigments
  • Wet adhesion promoters
• Lead product testing and validation activities based on ASTM, ISO, and NORSOK standards
• Support R&D laboratory setup, equipment commissioning, and technical capability development
• Collaborate with overseas R&D teams, suppliers, and research institutions
• Support technical presentations, customer engagement, and commercialization activities

Requirements

• Degree or Master’s in Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
• Experience in epoxy coatings, polymer formulation, industrial coatings, or protective coating technologies
• Familiar with ASTM / ISO testing standards and laboratory validation
• Knowledge in fire-retardant, corrosion-resistant, or subsea coating systems is advantageous
• Exposure to DSC, TGA, FTIR, rheology, or coating characterization equipment preferred

R&D Chemist – Epoxy / Industrial Coatings

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and improve epoxy-based coating formulations
• Conduct laboratory testing, product evaluation, and performance validation
• Support product troubleshooting and scale-up activities
• Perform coating performance testing including:
  • Adhesion testing
  • Salt spray testing
  • Immersion and durability testing
  • Fire resistance evaluations
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and formulation records

• Ensure laboratory activities comply with QA and ISO procedures
• Work closely with production, technical, and commercial teams on product implementation
• Coordinate with raw material suppliers on resin and additive evaluations

Requirements

• Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• Experience in industrial coatings, epoxy systems, paints, adhesives, or polymer materials preferred
• Hands-on laboratory and formulation experience is an advantage
• Familiar with ASTM / ISO testing methods preferred
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
• Fresh graduates with strong polymer/coating knowledge may be considered for junior openings
