A day in the life

As a Data Center Security Specialist, no two days are the same — but each one starts with keeping our customers' data safe. You’ll review overnight security activity, triage operational tickets, and coordinate with the contract guard force. Mid‑morning may involve a site walkthrough to inspect access control points, cameras, and perimeter security. You’ll coordinate with vendors on maintenance tickets and track open work orders against SLAs. Mid‑afternoon may involve a meeting with data center operations or walking a new build site with security design standards in mind. You’ll analyse alarm data to spot trends in false activations, and work with stakeholders to reduce them. By the end of the day you document findings, update metrics trackers, and prepare notes for your Area Security Manager.

About the team

The team manages access controls, surveillance systems, vendor operations, and incident response across a global footprint.
