What you'll be doing

  1. Lead all Halal application processes, prepare documentation, and act as liaison with JAKIM/JAIN/JAIS.
  2. Develop and continuously improve the company’s Halal Assurance System (HAS) and policies.
  3. Verify Halal validity of raw material suppliers and audit new suppliers.
  4. Prepare Halal committee meetings, reports, and maintain Halal Master Files.
  5. Assist in Halal and ISO HACCP audits and risk mitigation.
  6. Verify daily reports, enforce regulations, and update progress with QC personnel.
  7. Update QC Manuals (Project Specifications, Machine Specifications).
  8. Ensure machinery is well-maintained and calibrated.
  9. Coordinate internal and external Pest Control services.
  10. Manage retention samples and PPE stocks; assist in customer complaints and returns.
  11. Organize ongoing Halal training for staff on awareness and handling practices.
  12. Collaborate with R&D to review new product ingredients and processes for Halal compliance.

What we're looking for

  1. Possess at least a Diploma/Advanced Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Halal Management or related field
  2. MUST possess Halal Executive Training Certificate recognized by JAKIM.
  3. Well-versed in MS 1500:2019 and latest Malaysia Halal Management System (MHMS/HAS).
  4. At least 2 years of experience in handling Halal matters in food manufacturing, retail, or food service environment.
  5. Familiar with Food Safety Systems such as GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000 or related fields.
  6. Proficient in JAKIM’s MYeHALAL web-portal and the flow of new and renewal applications.
  7. Excellent command of Bahasa Melayu and English.
  8. Punctual, detail-oriented, and strong skills in task prioritization and planning.
  9. Willing to travel for work-related purposes.
