ICU Clinical Nurse Specialist - 40 hours- Days

Full-time Benefit Eligible

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), typically four 10-hour day shifts with some flexibility. Occasional off-shift hours may be required to support night staff.

Job Summary: Provides advanced care, consultation, research, management and education in a specific clinicalarea.

Responsibilities:
• Provides advanced direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Serves as an expert consultant for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development. Contributes to defining, directing and evaluating the nursing care and functions of clinical staff.
• Manages clinical research projects in support of evidence-based practice and disseminates findings.
• Develops, implements and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
• May assess the learning needs of patients and families and develops and/or implements teaching programs.

Complexity of Work: Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Required Credential(s):
• Clinical Nurse Specialist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing. Board certification required.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required and Master's degree required.
