Job Overview The Nursing Informatics trainer is responsible for assessing, planning, training, implementing, evaluating, and optimizing nursing informatics initiatives. This role analyzes clinical informatics data to support decision-making, improve outcomes, and strengthen organizational knowledge. It serves as an internal subject matter expert on clinical application workflows, acting as a liaison and translator between clinical staff and technical teams. The position monitors the development and configuration of clinical applications and guides nursing staff in translating user needs into effective technological solutions. Additional responsibilities include developing strategies for quality improvement and reporting, enhancing nursing workflows, building EHR proficiency among nursing and support staff, and ensuring that health information technology is implemented in a meaningful and impactful way. This role leads the design and execution of EHR workflow and template enhancements that promote patient safety, care quality, and operational efficiency. It plays a key part in EHR implementations at new sites and in ongoing system upgrades across the organization. In partnership with nursing leadership, the position helps ensure that technology investments deliver measurable value.

Requirements
A current, valid License as a Registered Nurse through the California Board of Registered Nursing is required.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
A minimum of one year of experience working with the frail elderly (Geriatric) population as required by CMS PACE regulations.
A minimum of 3 years’ hospital or clinic-related nursing experience required.
A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
Nice-to-haves
Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Healthcare Informatics degree is a plus
A minimum of one year of work experience in a PACE program is preferred.
Certification in Epic clinical application for assigned module(s) strongly preferred
Informatics Nursing Certification (RN-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) strongly preferred, or the ability to secure it within one year of hire.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish/ preferred.
