About Wayfair

Data is the engine that powers Wayfair's decisions — from which products to feature on the homepage to how we price millions of SKUs in real time. Our Business Intelligence team transforms massive volumes of retail, supply chain, and customer data into actionable insights that influence product strategy, pricing, marketing, and operations at every level of the organization. If you want to work on data problems at true e-commerce scale, Wayfair is where your skills will have the most impact.

Your Mission

As a Remote Business Intelligence Analyst focused on Retail, you will design and maintain the dashboards, reports, and analytical models that Wayfair's merchandising and category teams depend on for daily decision-making. You will translate business questions into analytical frameworks, extract insights from complex datasets, and communicate findings to stakeholders who use them to move the business forward.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain retail analytics dashboards tracking category sales performance, margin health, inventory levels, and customer behavior metrics
  • Partner with category managers and merchandising leaders to understand their analytical needs and deliver data solutions that address them
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract, join, and aggregate data from Wayfair's data warehouse
  • Develop models to evaluate pricing strategies, promotional effectiveness, and assortment expansion opportunities
  • Produce weekly and monthly retail performance summaries for category and leadership review
  • Proactively identify trends and anomalies in retail data and surface insights before they become issues
  • Support ad-hoc analytical requests from cross-functional business stakeholders

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or retail analytics
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience working in large-scale data warehouse environments
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Strong retail intuition — you understand how e-commerce businesses drive revenue and manage margins
  • Excellent data communication skills with the ability to translate findings for non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in analytics, statistics, computer science, economics, or a related quantitative field
