About the Role

Telehealth is transforming healthcare delivery, and certified Medical Assistants are at the core of that transformation. We are hiring Remote Telehealth Medical Assistants to support virtual physician visits, conduct patient intake over video or phone, manage clinical documentation, and coordinate care — all from your home office through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms.

This is a meaningful remote healthcare career that allows you to apply your clinical training without a commute to a brick-and-mortar clinic. You will work closely with telehealth physicians to ensure that every virtual appointment is well-documented, patients are properly prepared, and care coordination is seamless from intake to follow-up.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct virtual patient intake sessions — collect chief complaint, health history, current medications, and vital context before each physician visit
  • Assist physicians during live telehealth appointments by managing documentation and real-time order entry in the EHR
  • Process prescription refill requests, lab orders, and specialist referrals following physician-approved workflows
  • Handle prior authorization paperwork for medications and procedures per payer-specific requirements
  • Manage patient scheduling, appointment reminders, and post-visit follow-up communications
  • Maintain full HIPAA compliance in all patient data handling and ensure telehealth platform security standards are met

Requirements

  • Certified Medical Assistant credential required — CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or state-equivalent
  • One or more years of clinical medical assistant or medical office experience in a physician practice or clinic
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms such as Doxy.me, Zoom for Healthcare, or similar virtual care tools
  • Proficiency with EHR documentation — Epic, Cerner, Athena, or eClinicalWorks experience preferred
  • HIPAA-compliant home setup — private workspace, secure internet, and ability to access systems via VPN
  • Excellent communication skills for professional interaction with patients and physician teams over video and phone

Pay and Benefits

  • Pay: $17.00 to $22.00 per hour based on certification and experience
  • Full-time remote — no clinic commute, work from your home office
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance with employer contribution
  • 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off
  • Continuing education reimbursement and support for specialty certifications
  • Career advancement into telehealth coordination, care management, and clinical operations roles
