About the Role

Veterinary telehealth is one of the fastest-growing segments of the pet healthcare industry, and we are at the forefront of this movement. We are hiring Remote Veterinary Assistants to support our online veterinary consultation platform — conducting virtual client intake, assisting veterinarians during telehealth appointments, coordinating prescription and referral workflows, and managing client communications — all from your home office without any physical animal handling required.

This is a meaningful remote healthcare career for certified veterinary assistants and veterinary technicians who want to apply their clinical knowledge in a modern telehealth environment. You will play a central role in ensuring that every virtual vet appointment runs smoothly, every pet owner feels supported, and every veterinarian has the documentation and coordination support they need to provide excellent care.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct remote client intake for telehealth consultations — collect pet health history, current medications, chief complaint, and weight
  • Assist veterinarians during live telehealth appointments by managing real-time documentation and order entry in the practice management system
  • Process prescription refill requests, wellness product recommendations, and specialist referral coordination
  • Handle prior authorization paperwork for prescription medications that require insurance payer approval
  • Manage client appointment scheduling, reminder calls, and post-visit follow-up communications via phone and email
  • Respond to inbound client inquiries about pet health concerns, products, and appointment availability with care and professionalism

Requirements

  • Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician certification or equivalent clinical training program completion preferred
  • One or more years of hands-on experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or animal shelter
  • Compassionate, knowledgeable communication with pet owners who may be anxious or distressed about their animal
  • Experience with practice management software — AVImark, Cornerstone, or similar systems preferred
  • Comfortable working with telehealth platforms and virtual meeting tools for client consultations
  • HIPAA-equivalent client data privacy standards must be observed — secure, private home workspace required

Pay and Benefits

  • Pay: $16.00 to $21.00 per hour based on certification and experience level
  • Full-time remote — no animal handling or clinic commute ever required in this role
  • Pet health insurance benefit and continuing veterinary education reimbursement
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance with employer contribution
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan and paid time off
  • Career advancement into telehealth coordination, practice management, and veterinary operations leadership
